I was in Downtown Seattle earlier this week on Monday and had an opportunity to visit SEOmoz. Their Community Attaché went to the same university as me, although she graduated a couple years before so this was the first time I had met her. Unfortunately, Rand was in Munich at the time, but it was great to visit and get a glimpse of the inner workings of this awesome company.

While getting to see the room of the famous “Whiteboard Fridays” or the “Batcave” (conference room) in person is cool, it’s much more rewarding to simply stop and chat with some of the people working there. Broadly speaking, their office consists of their software development, marketing, design, tech support, project manager, administrative, and executive teams. They are quite famous for prioritizing business culture, and it is well reflected in the way in which team members work, interact and collaborate.

Below are just a couple quick shots from my visit. Visit our Facebook album to see the rest!

And here is the most recent Whiteboard Friday (as of the date of this writing). Since Rand was gone, their Director of Acquisition Joanna Lord stepped in to fill the role of the Friday guru and produced a fantastic video on on-page conversion optimization that is very relevant and useful to people of all levels!

Special thanks to Community Attaché Erica McGillivray for taking the time to show me around SEOmoz!

That’s it, I’ll have to move to the states so I can just drop by SEOmoz and others…. green with envy at the moment, but still enjoyed the read.

Definitely visit some time. Seattle is a great place. If you are in Chicago ever let me us know and we’ll get together. They have some good startups here as well.

      Glad you enjoyed the read!
